ELP workshop: Advanced linocut portrait
Workshop leader Aiste Ramunaite
“In this workshop we learn how to use linocut techniques to capture the spirit and character of our subject. A portrait usually conveys something hidden in the visual sense, the history of a person, their secret or emotional life. How do you reveal and represent these hidden aspects and blend them with the mirror’s ‘reality’? The Portrait linocut workshop...

Each print is available individually for £40 and the full set of 31 prints is £950. All proceeds from sales go to ELP and will be put towards future projects...

Giant Linocut Steamroller print
Here at the ELP studio we have been working on a giant linocut which we will be printing at our fete on the 17th July (see the previous post). The linocut is in four parts and will measure 24ft x 18in (about 7.3m x 45cm). This is a traditional party for members of the printing trade with a lot of drinking going on and a small printed item is made by everyone to keep as a memento of the occasion. We decided to print our design onto canvas bags so we would have something not just beautiful but useful too (rather like our...
